Free Camera: without pushing down a button or key? - Guild Wars Forums

I want to use Free Camera* but since I'd be using it 100% of the time, I don't want to have to push down a key or a mouse button.

Is there a trick I could use instead?

* F11 > Control > Camera: Free Camera

How about any trick to push down my key for me? Tried duct taping it down, no go.

I don't know of any software the sticks a key down. Does your mouse have any extra buttons like the razor naga. The easiest way would seem to map it to a mouse button since you are moving the camera with the mouse anyway.

...Did a quick google search, not sure it can do it. But check out AutoHotKey for windows.

It can and it's actually amazingly simple.

Download AHK and all that stuff open notepad and put in

Quote:

Send {NumpadDot Down}

return

and save it as "whatever you want.ahk".

Set your in game free camera key to . on your numpad.

When in game hit your windows key+c and your good to go.

When you want to cancel just hit the . (numpad) key yourself.

An alternative (that doesn't need downloads) in case anyone else was wondering:

- Assign free camera to any key on the numpad;
- Hold that key;
- Turn off Num Lock;
- Release key.

Now it will be held down as long as you don't turn Num Lock back on. Sadly, Alt-Tabbing out of GW will cancel this as well.

Strange, that didn't work for me. I'll try it on another computer some other time.

On Linux, I do: xsendkeycode 84 1
(84 being the numpad 5 key)
And it works, simple and easy.
